Four Organizing Styles
What style of organizer are you?

The Stacker
You’re sure a busy one!
You love taking on projects from big to small, and are easily inspired to get up and do something new. You may also be known as the creative one in your family or friend group!
Since you have so many projects on the go, you like to keep them out as a visual reminder and have them accessible for when motivation strikes. Even though there may be a lot of stuff out, you also like to keep it neat and tidy-looking.
And I get it!
But you can only be so tidy when these “neat” piles start adding up around your home, then no amount of straightening up will help you to actually organize them.
Now since you’re already on the right track with straightening and tidying, these few tips should be easy for you to implement. With a bit of willpower and consistency, you’ll have that #instaworthy home in no time!
First off, always start with a plan. Map out your shelving unit or closet beforehand to have a clear vision of how you will organize the space. To minimize the amount of stuff, try limiting yourself to three projects at a time and avoid just straightening the items after use – challenge yourself to put them away when you’re finished for the day. This is easier to do when you schedule a bit of time at the end of working to clean up.
An orderly way to keep track of all your ongoing projects is to keep an itemized inventory list. Instead of laying it all out to see everyday, jot down all of your tools, materials, etc. for each project and store the items together in a clear tote. We will call this one of your “Project Boxes”! And you can keep these totes all together in either an open shelving unit or a closet.
Removing the doors from a closet is another way to still see your Project Boxes. You can install hooks or shelving inside to avoid piles forming within. If you prefer opaque storage options, then I recommend using labels to document the contents.
Another way to organize the opaque boxes is by using a color-coded system. This can be of your choosing, as long as you can remember what that system represents and be able to quickly file things away. It’s easier to do it right away than let it build up into a whole chore on its own!
